This mid-century home underwent a full gut renovation, rebuilt from the studs to thoughtfully restore and celebrate its original character while bringing in modern function and light. We collaborated closely with wonderful clients who trusted the process while contributing thoughtful ideas along the way, making the project a true partnership. Our work included architectural design, space planning, and a full reconfiguration of the layout to highlight mid-century details that had been lost over time. We introduced angular clerestory windows to brighten the living areas, added walnut beams and a linear fireplace, opened the front entry to connect the kitchen with the patio, and incorporated terracotta breeze blocks and a custom teal starburst gate to create a distinctive outdoor connection. Throughout the home, teal—our client’s favorite color—appears in playful and sophisticated ways, from the geometric kitchen tile to the striking primary bath and custom details in each room. Additional highlights include a sunburst walnut front door, a new rooftop deck with mountain views, a light-filled primary suite with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a variety of handcrafted tile and wood elements that blend mid-century geometry with subtle Southwest influences. The result is a vibrant, highly personal home that honors its architectural roots while reflecting the creativity and warmth of the family who lives there.
